Isıcam Warranty Coverage

  • The Isıcam Authorized Manufacturer company guarantees Isıcam products produced according to the “Isıcam Quality Standard” of Şişecam Flat Glass against defects originating from Isıcam production, such as scratches, dirt, stains, and fogging, detected initially or during the usage period on the inner surface (spacer area) of the Isıcam unit for a period of 10 years.
  • If the Isıcam units are installed by the manufacturer, Isıcam units that are damaged due to installation-related errors are also covered by the warranty. Cases where the installation is carried out by a company other than the Isıcam manufacturer, and it is determined that the deterioration in the Isıcam unit is due to installation-related issues, are not covered by the warranty.
  • In case of breakage of Isıcam units, the breakage is not covered by the warranty.
  • Applications such as tiled, louvered, domed, and louvre hole on Isıcam units are not covered by the warranty.
  • Warranties for Isıcam units used in applications other than conventional window applications (such as parapet, overhead, structural glazing, etc.) and for use at temperatures below -30°C or above +80°C are valid only with the written consent of the Isıcam Authorized Manufacturer company.
  • The customer requesting glass must inform the Isıcam Authorized Manufacturer in writing of the location where the installation will be carried out, so that the Isıcam Authorized Manufacturer can ensure the suitability of Isıcam units for pressure, altitude, and other geographical conditions, and take necessary packaging and packaging measures. If the location of the installation is not communicated in writing, errors arising from the reasons mentioned above are not covered by the warranty.
  • Isıcam units are manufactured according to the “TS 3539 EN 1279 Glass – Glass-based Insulating Units used in Buildings Standard” and quality control is conducted according to these standards. Errors in the Isıcam unit are evaluated within the scope of these standards. As stated in the mentioned standard, fogging on the outer surface of Isıcam units is not considered an error.

During Installation, Attention Should Be Paid to the Following Points

Isıcam units should be handled with care in Isıcam and Isıcam-insulated glass balcony and facade applications, paying attention to the following points:

During the installation of Isıcam units into the frame, certain silicone sealants used may penetrate the outer insulation material between the two glasses and interact with the inner insulation material, causing the butyl to melt and flow between the two glasses. To prevent the occurrence of butyl flow, also known as butyl migration, the following measures should be taken:

In cases where installation is not carried out in accordance with these conditions, our warranty terms will not be valid, and our company will not accept any financial or moral responsibility.

  • The materials used in the installation of Isıcam branded products (such as structural silicones, sealing silicones, joint sealant silicones, wedge bottom silicones, silicones used in glass balcony production, adhesives, etc.) should be non-acidic solvent-free suitable materials.
  • It is necessary to conduct compatibility tests of the materials used in the installation (such as structural silicones, sealing silicones, joint sealant silicones, wedge bottom silicones, silicones used in glass balcony production, adhesives, etc.) with the primary (butil) and secondary insulation sealants (polysulfide, polyurethane, sealant silicone) used in Isıcam production, in case of contact with Isıcam units. Having these tests conducted in the laboratories of silicone manufacturers is the responsibility of the installation company performing the application.
  • In cases where the sealing putties on the edges of Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) may be exposed to direct sunlight, silicone should be used as a secondary sealant in the IGUs. In cases where the sealing putties on the edges of Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) may be exposed to direct sunlight, silicone should be used as a secondary sealant in the IGUs.
  • Our company cannot be held responsible for any breakage or other defects in the glass caused by the unsuitability of the areas where the glass is stored, whether with or without racks, at the installation site.

General Definitions and Classification According to TS EN 1279-1 Standard

Insulated glass units are grouped under three different classes: Type A, B, and C.

The classification is based on whether the insulated glass unit is exposed to UV radiation and/or permanent shear load. The external sealant material must be silicone-based to withstand UV radiation and/or permanent shear load.

In this case, the external sealant material used in Type A insulated glass units is expected to be polysulfide or polyurethane, while the external sealant material used in Type B and C insulated glass units is expected to be silicone-based.

th Direct Exposure to UV Radiation Exposure to Permanent Shear Load Recommended External Sealant Material
TİP A No No Polysulfide or Polyurethane
TİP B Yes No Silicone
TİP C Yes/No Yes Silicone
